Sunday Worship
- Our Sunday worship now takes place across the street from the Church in Library Park from 10:00 – 11:00 am.
- If the weather is inclement, we meet via Zoom by email invitation only. If you are interesting in attending a Zoom service, please contact Pastor Steve to get on our email list: [email protected]
Our typical worship services are informal and interactive. They usually involve prayer, singing, guitar or harp music, Bible reading, preaching, and fellowship. During the summer, we often adopt a "Worship 'Round the Table" style of worship for several Sundays, where we sit at tables, eat breakfast, and informally discuss a selected topic of interest. Additionally, we often hold alternative services that involve musical guests, Taize, Lectio Divina, and contemplative prayer.
Members of the congregation take active roles in a typical worship service; each worship gathering draws from the wealth of gifts of the community. We have volunteers who share the responsibilities of preaching, song leading, and service planning. We take turns reading the assigned Scripture readings for the day. And we definitely love to sing! The high point of our worship is our time of Reflections and Response. Since we believe anyone can offer an interpretation of the Bible, we provide time in our worship for people to offer their own reflections of the Scriptures and the sermon. We also take time in our service to share our lives together by sharing our needs, concerns, and thanksgivings. |
